Mama Shelter heads to the Alps, with new signing in Val Thorens.

Opening in 2027, the iconic brand of joyful and irreverent hospitality will unveil its very first resort, creating a true retreat in the heart of the Alps.

In 2027, Mama Shelter will open its very first resort in Val Thorens, Europe’s highest ski destination. This is far more than a hotel, it will be a lively, full-of-character retreat where guests can experience the mountains in true Mama-style: relaxed, fun, and social. The ambitious project is led by Ennismore, Vista, Financière Galata, and Cogeco, partners united in their goal to redefine the mountain experience.

Every corner of Mama Shelter Val Thorens is designed to foster connection and enjoyment. The resort celebrates skiing, leisure, and togetherness in a way that is playful yet authentic. With 148 rooms and a restaurant featuring a panoramic terrace of over 800m², the views are spectacular, but it is the vibrant atmosphere that will truly set the resort apart.

Guests can sip a creative cocktail at the bar, sing their hearts out in the karaoke room, unwind in the Ski Lounge with friends, or relax in the spa, which includes a sauna, hammam, treatment rooms, fitness area, and indoor pool.

The resort is being developed with the support of a BREEAM consultancy and aims to valorise the majority of its construction waste, ensuring materials are reused, recycled, or recovered rather than sent to landfill, reflecting their commitment to sustainable construction.
