21 DECEMBER 2023
2023 has seen many exciting openings across the Ennismore collective. Culminating in over 25 new hotels, our doors have opened in new neighbourhoods and cities where guests can truly immerse themselves in community and culture, as well as some far-flung destinations to escape the routine. There are too many to mention them all, but we’re delighted to have welcomed the below new hotels to the Ennismore family.
Starting the year with a bang, the very first Maison Delano has opened its doors in Paris. In a former 18th-century mansion on Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in the heart of Parisian luxury, Maison Delano Paris is a cosy cocoon and a vibrant place to live. Built for gallant parties, the hotel bears the hallmarks of its illustrious past (original painted ceilings, elegant marble fireplaces, a monumental staircase, and a neo-classical façade) and is home to 56 extraordinary rooms and suites, as well as La Chambre Bleue, a new restaurant concept created by Dani García.
In quick succession, Mama and the gang arrived in Rennes. Where modernism and tradition meet, Mama Shelter Rennes is the perfect blend of Breton culture. And coupled with the brand’s quirky design that celebrates local gastronomy and traditions, brought a little Mama sass to the city. The hotel also saw the arrival of the very first “Mama Skin Spa”, a boudoir nestled under stone vaults alongside a pool hammam and sauna – perfect for relaxing after the day of exploring the city.
This year also saw the opening of several new Hoxtons. Kicking things off, The Hoxton made its debut in Germany with the opening of The Hoxton, Charlottenburg. With 234 rooms, public spaces and North Indian-inspired restaurant House of Tandoor by Carte Blanched, our in-house F&B concept lab, its design nods to West Berlin’s rich architectural history, expect classic 1920s opulence intertwined with brutalism silhouettes and texture, all designed by our interior and graphic in-house studio, AIME Studios. The Hoxton also opened in Brussels and Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands.
For our first hotel in Singapore, Mondrian Singapore seamlessly blends rich heritage with modern sophistication to immerse guests in local culture at every step. Traditional shophouses synonymous with the Duxton Hill area have been “deconstructed” to create captivating and unique interiors throughout the hotel. Situated in the city’s most up-and-coming neighbourhood, guests will also find four distinctive destinations by Carte Blanched, including Bottega di Carna, Canyon, Christina’s and Club Jungle Ballroom.
In the States, at the corner of curiosity, 21c St. Louis then opened in a lovingly restored 95-year-old, Renaissance Revival-style YMCA building. An urban oasis for discovery, it boasts over 14,000 sq ft of exhibition space featuring site-specific art installations and rotating, curated exhibitions, along with 173 artistically appointed rooms outfitted with exclusive artworks. As if the art isn’t enough to excite, it is also home to an athletic and wellness centre, Locust Street Athletic and Swim Club, Good Press coffee shop, and chef-driven restaurant Idol Wolf.
At the height of the summer season, two exciting new openings landed in one of the most idyllic corners of the White Isle. In Cala Llonga – widely considered the best natural harbour on the east coast of Ibiza – guests at the Mondrian Ibiza and Hyde Ibiza have access to Ibiza’s hidden coves via a stunning mountain. Combining leisure, relaxation and gastronomy, the two properties will feature a line-up of culinary offerings by Carte Blanched, including Cuyo, Bungalow, Hyde Beach, Sun and Moon, and The Perq.
Opening another secluded island, this time in the middle of the Indian Ocean, SO/ Maldives is a sartorially rooted retreat and the ultimate exotic island escape. Boasting 80 spectacular beachfront and over-water luxury villas, private pools here come as standard. The resort also features three distinct dining options from The Citronelle Club, inspired by the flavours of Asia, Hadaba featuring slow-cooked Levantine dishes and smoked delicacies, and Lazuli, a hybrid beach bar and lounge oozing Cote D’Azur charm and elegance.
For the last opening of the year within our Lifestyle Collective, the first Mondrian in Greater China opened its doors. Mondrian Hong Kong is inspired by Hong Kong’s rich history, design flourishes like a floating minibar and sweeping Victoria Harbour and island skyline vistas, plus curated works and performances by local artists. Full of cutting-edge edge art and installations from inspired local and international artists, this Mondrian has an oversized imagination set to push boundaries in the city.
Just a 45-minute drive from the heart of Paris, Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay is a historic landmark transformed into a stunning sanctuary. Marking the debut of Paris Society’s country escape, the estate is steeped in history, from its Cistercian origins to the golden age of the Rothschilds, and now enters a new era as a contemporary retreat with 147 stunning bedrooms and suites, seamlessly merging chic modernity with serene luxury.
Rixos Qetaifan Island offers guests a luxurious breakaway to an island packed with entertainment and adventure. With five acres of fun-filled attractions, including a sensational waterpark, private beach, retail area and numerous fine dining and casual restaurants, Rixos Qetaifan Island North Doha is the ultimate multi-inclusive vacation destination.
And finally, Banyan Tree made its debut in Dubai on the tranquil shores of Bluewaters. A modern beach sanctuary for the senses with 500 meters of pristine, private beachfront overlooking the Arabian Gulf. 178 elegant rooms and suites blend natural materials with a touch of contemporary Asian flair, whilst 96 fully furnished private apartments offer island retreat living. Every day at Banyan Tree Dubai promises distinctive experiences, culminating in breath taking sunsets over the sea.
