Seven Ennismore hotels and resorts recognised in the Forbes Travel Guide Star Award

Forbes Travel Guide has unveiled its highly anticipated Star Awards list for 2024, and we are proud to share that seven Ennismore destinations have made the list.

The only independent, global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, spas and ocean cruise ships, the Forbes Travel Guide are on a mission to verify luxury. Inspecting both service and facility, their rating system emphasises experience – because how your visit makes you feel is what you will remember most.

We are thrilled to share that the below Ennismore hotels and resorts have achieved this year’s list for their facilities and exceptional commitment to service.

FOUR-STAR

Gleneagles, our glorious playground in the Scottish Highlands, celebrates its 100th year in 2024, and recognition in Forbes Travel Guide’s annual list once again. A charming country estate, a rural family adventure, an invigorating escape for friends, a cosy couples’ retreat, or a home from home, you will find it all at Gleneagles. The guide’s recommendation is to “take time to enjoy Gleneagles’ grand lobby as you enter” and “settle in at the marble bar and let the knowledgeable bar staff expand your whisky world” at Century Bar.

Mondrian Doha has been bringing the energy and cool California vibes to the West Bay neighbourhood of Qatar’s capital city since 2017. “In equal turns an eccentric fantasy and a fully-fledged opulent escape from the city”, the hotel boasts eight restaurants and bars; Forbes highlights that the hotel’s “top-notch restaurants alone are worth a visit”. Home to Morimoto, Walima, Mondrian Bistro, Hudson Tavern, Ellamia, Black Orchid, Smoke & Mirrors and 12 Chairs Caviar Bar, guests can always expect culinary experiences to surprise and delight.

SO/ Berlin Das Stue, at the heart of the city’s diplomatic district and surrounded by some of the city’s best-known sites, emanates the tranquillity of a truly exceptional sanctuary. Rooted in worlds of fashion and design, the hotel exudes style with elegantly decorated rooms, and an appreciation for art is visible throughout the property. Forbes notes the hotel’s proximity to the Tiergarten, Landwehr Canal, Zoologischer Garten area and access to the city Zoo as key highlights for this district city escape.

RECOMMENDED

Mondrian Shoreditch, located in London’s creative and cultural hub, captures the progressive vitality of the surrounding neighbourhood. Recommended for its “120 rooms exude warmth and sophistication”, “impressive roster of restaurants speaks the global language of deliciousness”, “and a rooftop pool, with awe-inspiring looks around the neighbourhood”, Mondrian Shoreditch is nothing short of a cultural connoisseur, opening the doors to all the city has to offer.

SO/ Bangkok – whether you’re here for business or leisure, party or relaxation, this is a city where anything is possible. And according to the guide, “SO/ Bangkok fits right into the colorful chaos of Thailand’s vibrant capital”. Drawing inspiration from neighbouring Lumpini Park and Feng Shui philosophy, the hotel has collaborated with designers to re-interpret the essence of water, earth, wood, metal, and fire to create “one of the most visually interesting hotels in the city”.

SLS Cancun features 45 suites, ocean views and world-class décor with interiors by renowned Italian architect Piero Lissoni. This beachside sanctuary makes the list for its sparkling interiors and a “view of the azure-hued Caribbean Sea [that] makes for the real showstopper”. Home to a private marina and an 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course, to also advise guests to “bring your clubs and don’t miss a round”.

Completing the list is SLS Beverly Hills – the original SLS property and the place to see and be seen since its opening in 2018. With 297 rooms and suites, guests here are invited to revel in the brand’s unabashedly cheeky, modern spirit. “With its opulent but whimsical Philippe Starck design, the hotel’s hip factor continues to reign supreme in Los Angeles”, says Forbes, and “this luxury hotel is ideal for exploring some of the City of Angels’ most sizzling scenes”.

Congratulations to the winners – we couldn’t be more proud.
